After thoughts: Honmono Sushi

One of the dishes eligible for a 50% discount.
Despite having "Sushi" in it's name it does offer dishes other than sushi or sashimi. However their main highlights are sashimi/sushi. This is actually the first of three japanese restaurants that I will be introducing in the near future.

It is rather late in October to be doing this review, in hindsight I probably should have done this one first so that you folks have more time with their special promotion (ends 31st October). Better late than never I suppose. If you are in possession of a Citi Bank Credit card (Not sure if it's only for Platinum cards or all of them, will edit this post later once confirmed) and can find time to visit the before the end of October you will be able to take advantage of a 50% discount promotion.

Appetizers served soon after you sit down.
Now don't get your hopes up, this offer only applies to one of three dishes, meaning that if you order all three of the eligible dishes you will have to choose which of the three will receive the discount. The dishes eligible for this discount is the big sashimi platter (I forgot what they called it in the menu, but if you ask the waitresses they'll tell you which ones are included in the offer), and the uni sushi and sashimi.
Uni sushi, one of the dishes eligible for the 50% discount.
My advice is to go for the sashimi platter, since it is the most expensive of the three and you get a wide variety of different types of fish. The cuts are rather generous compared to other places, however you do only get two pieces of each (as shown in the first photo). One of the salads
Avocado salad.

I have only visited the Thonglor branch (the main/first branch) however there are branches in Central Bangna and on Sathorn road. The staff at the Thonglor branch are very knowledgeable and you can ask them anything about all the dishes. Some acquaintances of mine have told me that the other branches don't seem to offer as good a service however the prices and food are all the same.
Unagidon
For a party of 3-4 people you can fill yourselves up for around 3,000 baht. By all means not the cheapest offer out there but you do get rather high quality dishes. I usually only visit them whenever they have special offers or for special occasions. We usually order the big platter of either sushi or sashimi and salads to start with and then finish off with some noodles. My favorite noodles are the big Udon noodles, however my parents prefer the thinner variety Inaniwa Udon noodles pictured below. After the meal you get a slice of Japanese melons each. The Unagidon (Grilled Eel rice bowl) for me seemed less filling than ones at other restaurants, however it is actually roughly the same amount. This might be because other places will serve this up in a bento box rather than a bowl as seen above.
Zaru Inaniwa Udon
The Thonglor branch is the smallest of the three I believe and is usually very crowded around 7pm onwards. Although with the recent flood warnings I think that they are less crowded. There is some parking space out front, but they also offer a valet service.

To finish off this guide I would like to say that unless you likes raw fish and the likes, I would recommend you visit one of the other Japanese restaurants that I will introduce later. Honmono Sushi does offer a wide variety of dishes and they are delicious, however their main focus seem to be in the sushi/sashimi department.
