After thought: Artur's

Artur's restaurant sits at the Bliston Suwam Park View Service Apartments in the Plernchit/Chitlom area very close to Central department store's Chitlom branch. If you like French cuisine I highly recommend this place for you to try out. Satisfaction garunteed. Before we go on further, please pardon my lack of photography skills. All photos are taken with my iPhone 4. These photos are not from the same visit.
Hors d'oeuvre served in an egg shell. Very creamy but light, gets the stomach juices going well.
My family has known Artur for a few years now, and when I say a few years I really mean almost 20 years give or take. He has been responsible for the successor many well known fine dining establishments in Bangkok over the years. The first time I met him was at "Ma Mason" which was situated inside Nailert Park Hotel which is currently partnered with Swissôtel (although back then it was the Hilton). He later went on to work at the New York Steakhouse at JW Marriott also on Sukhumvit road. He was also behind the restaurant called "Prime" steakhouse in the new Hilton situated riverside to Chaopraya river before finally opening a place which bears his name at Bliston Suwan Park View.

Artur carving/fileting an imported Dover Sole. Don't take your eyes off him because you'll miss it.
Artur's can be described as.... modern French cuisine and then some. When you first walk through the door you will see the bar serving various cocktails and great wine. He is very well known for the way he is able to train and teach all of his waitresses how to work the floor. From how to prepare everyone's favorite Caesar salad table side to the little things that the average foodie may not notice. His staff are more than capable almost all the time, but when mistakes are made Artur will deal with the situation gracefully while not event allowing you the chance of discomfort.

The staff are all very knowledgable about the dishes that they serve, as well as the wine that guests may like if asked for recommendations. Speaking of dishes, I highly recommend the Escargot. Unfortunately not pictured here because I couldn't hold myself back long enough to take one. For people who do like escargot, it will be a treat. For others who don't or haven't had the chance to try, be careful you don't become addicted. Undoubtedly the best you could find in Bangkok, if you do find better please contact me because I'd love to go try it out.

Possibly one of the biggest piece of foie gras I have ever been served.

The foie gras was beautifully done and the steaks are to die for. I know. That some folks prefer their meat cooked rather thoroughly so be sure to tell them since I believe everything is done medium rare by default.

If you order big pieces of steak Artur will carve and portion them for you table side.
For those of us who aren't able to throw away thousands of baht for dinner without a second thought, I would like t o recommend to you their lunch set menus. For around 290+b you wil get a two course meal with the choice of soup, salad or tart/quiche followed by fish and chips Buurger of Prime Australian beef or an omlette with either cheese, ham, spinach or mushroom. You could also spend 490+b for a wider choice of appetizer entreé and desert.

Chocolate oozing out is pretty foodgasmic.
I'm more of a chocolate person but the Creme brule was very good also.

Their 30 minute express lunches are served from Monday through Saturday with the exception of various public holidays.

I forgot what these are called but you get a bag to take home with you before you leave.
What ever type of meal you're looking for I highly recommend you try out Artur's at least once, you definitely won't regret it.
